Fashion Fitness Friday

Fitness is a really big part of my life. Since I am a college cross county runner, I wear athletic gear the majority of the time. So if I am going to be spending my days in sports bras and shorts, I want them to be fashionable and comfortable.

Running has pretty much always been my “thing,” but I’ve also always had a passion for fashion, so if I can put the two together, by golly, you know I will!

This sporty outfit is great for a workout in the hot weather! This is seriously my favorite sports bra that I have ever owned. I like the look and the fit. I got this one at forever21!! Yes, I shop there a lot, but I have discovered that F21 is my official favorite place to get workout gear. (Which means that I will be showing you guys plenty more cute sports stuff from there.) Cute, comfy, and cost efficient. What more could we ask for?

As far as shorts go, these ones are my current front-runner. (haha get it?) I got them when I went to Mall of America at Abercrombie and Fitch for like 10 bucks because there was a really insane deal going on that day. And they also come in black! I think what I like about them the most is that they look like boxing shorts, which makes them different from your average everyday shorts. (And different from most of my other running shorts.)

Running Tips of the day!

  1. Always stretch before and after exercise! I can’t stress this enough. It’s the first thing you learn, but also the first thing you forget. I learned the hard way that NOT stretching can cause injury.
  2. Find a running buddy. Having a partner can make working out a little easier to deal with. It helps give you motivation and the run tends to be more enjoyable when there is someone to talk to and push you to keep going.
  3. Do noooooot run on an empty stomach. In my experience, the lack of fuel slows me down and I have actually gotten really sick from it! Eat a light meal or snack and wait about an hour before you head out the door.
  4. Stay hydrated no matter whether it is really hot or cold, your body needs water.

Thanks for reading my blog guys! I am looking forward to writing more about exercising! Let me know if you have any questions! I’ll have more tips coming next time! Until then, I’ll just be doing it Sienna Sky Style. 😉
